I just picked up the TH42PZ85U for my new apartment, and I have to say, what a TV! But, there is one thing I am stressing over, the dreaded lip sync issue, or so I think it is.
I've always been a stickler for this issue, whether its in gaming, converting videos to different formats, or etc. When the audio doesn't sync up with the video, it drives me insane.
I don't have an external amp like most of you guys, just playing the sound normally through the TV speakers for now, but I do feel there is a delay, albeit very slight. Im trying to convince myself its the dvd, its me, or etc.
One example was that I was watching the Chapelle's Show dvd. On the Title menu loop, one of the guys taps his foot on the floor (If you have these dvds, you'll know what I mean), and I'll be damned, the sound wasn't matching up to the tapping.
It's mostly noticeable in quick sounds, yells, etc because the actors mouth movements are more sudden, so you can see the mouth change more drastically.
Now, I'm trying to figure out, is this a known issue with the TV? I searched, and it seems that this issue is mostly relegated to older plasmas, or plasmas with receivers attached.
Is there any dvd that is a standard check for things like this?
Am I just insane, now that I am constantly watching the actors mouths??!?1
