Is anyone familiar with the Russound Ratio series single point RC61s speaker? I have an Abus system installed and need to add a couple single point speakers, one in my kitchen and one in a hallway. I thought these may be a good solution.

Any thoughts on this speaker, or other speaker solutions that would work well (or do better than this speaker) with an A-KP2 keypad?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have installed these on several jobs. I have used them for Abus and a CAA. I was actually rather impressed with them. You wont be disappointed in them especially for the price you pay for them and installing them is a snap, literally!

Hey, thanks for your thoughts.

A local authorized Russound dealer by my place told me $100 a speaker, I've seen them for much less from non-authorized Russound dealers on the internet.

What price point have you seen them at if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks.

I am actually in canada so my pricing isn't really comparable especially with where our dollar has tanked too. I believe MSRP up here is in around the 150 mark, 100 isn't too bad though. I can't say go buy from an unauthorized dealer only because i am a dealer myself and hate when people buy online etc. and then ask me to install/program their units.

Understandable. Thanks just the same.

Finally got around to installing my Ratio speakers. I bought the Ratio RC81 in ceiling speakers. Ran the wires from the ABUS keypad to the ceiling locations, cut out the holes in the ceiling, installed the speakers and cleaned up all in less than 2 hours.

A pleasant surprise how easy these 'snap in' speakers installed. Cut a hole and pop them in - done deal.

Very happy with the way they sound too. I'd say they sound as nice or nicer to my layman's ear as the Yamaha bookshelf speakers I was previously using. And the WAF is off the charts compared to the bookshelf speakers on speaker stands we had been using.

Next up will be an additional keypad and an RC61s for my kitchen...

I am glad you are enjoying them so much. You are right about installation they make life WAY easier. They really are a decent speaker for the price tag and ease of installation!
