Having been a part of the Studio Intros thread for awhile, I can tell you that we have spent many hours trying to get our custom intros to look as close to the real thing as can be.

This is easier said than done most times and can be frustrating even more.

While we have been able to get almost all the major studios done now, there are just a few left and we will probably conquer those soon enough.

I needed a break from the studio intros myself, so I started thinking of other ideas that I would like to see on my screen.

It was about this time that Volley posted his Hi Def Intro. From this thread I was introduced to www.videocopilot.net . Andrew Kreamer does a great job explaining how to do alot of neat stuff on that site. I encourage everyone even remotely interested in video editing to take a look at that site. It's awesome.

I thought about action intros or scary intros, but Volley says that he will be doing a horror one soon so I will wait to see what he comes up with.

So I went with action, but I also wanted it to be more like a movie. I have always been a fan of sci-fi, so I had my theme.

Except for just a couple tweaks here and there I am calling this one done and wanted to submit it for viewing here on AVS.

Hope you like it.

Steve

Yeah, send it my way and I'll see what I can come up with. May be a bit since I just got done with this but would be interesting to play around with.

Maybe we can come up with a predator or robo cop and have a series of .vs.

Shawn_Ky,

Thanks

No probs - file sent, and it's in Blender format.

Unless you have NASA's processing power this will take a looonnngggg time to render an animation :)

Dang! Blender??

Blender is the bain of my existance!

J/K... I know Magius loves it but I haven''t caught the knack of it yet.

Well, maybe by some crazy chance I might be able to get it exported out to max. Maybe not

Either way,

Thanks man!

Thanks for the links Eubank.

It's not that I hate Blender, but more that it's too abstract for me to get my brain around.

I barely understand max as can be seen in this intro. But it's all just a learning process....

Oh Yeah man, I'm keeping at it...

Working on a new non-studio intro already. Non-sci-fi also for now.

Kinda reminds me of the old "Welcome to AMC" intros I used to see...

Should be kinda fun.

Had the first movie night (Showing The Incredible Hulk) since completing this intro so I dropped it into the lineup.

Everyone in attendance were regulars to the Adams HT so I was wondering what their thoughts would be.

Everyone commented on how much they liked it and thought it was a pretty good intro to have before an action movie. I agreed and also think that it would work for not only an action movie intro but sci fi which are the 2 most viewed types of movies in our HT.

Of all the compliments of the night I would have to say that my favorite was from the 6 year old in the very back...

After laser explosions and shotguns blasts with the light fading from the camera being torn to shreds, the room goes black and from the back of the room the voice of a small 6 year old, "That was awesome!"

Everyone just busted out laughing.

So a thumbs up from the this 6 year old (and you would just have to know him to understand how big that is...) is just about the best compliment we've received since opening our HT.

Thanks Josiah...

Thanks JBL.

Working on a smooth, highly reflective chrome material right now.

Wanting to try and put together an intro similar to the T2 intro where he is coming through the fire.

Will post some pics once I get it together...
