I am thinking of getting a Squeezebox Transporter or similar gadget to stream my PC audio to my Yamaha receiver/speakers. I need an uncompressed format. It seems that the Transporter allows me to stream either uncompressed WAV files or PCM. Does it matter which? And how do I rip PCM onto my hard drive, anyway? I can rip WAV but I've never noticed PCM as an option in my ripping software before...

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Brian

simply put, WAV is PCM...

PCM refers to the means by which analog audio is digitally-encoded, while WAV refers to the container format that encoding is encapsulated in... so when you are ripping to WAV, you are taking PCM data and placing it in a WAV container that your receiver will recognize.
