I just bought a JBL ES series speaker system including the ES240P subwoofer. If I could place the subwoofer on its side that would open up some options for me in terms of where I could potentially place the subwoofer. I could then expiriment with this expanded range of choices to find out which one works best.
Is it okay to place this subwoofer on its side, or will doing so damage the subwoofer in some way?
Thanks for any help you can give.

I don't know of this particular sub but as long as this subwoofer doesn't use a passive radiator or you aren't blocking a port then you should be fine placing it on it's side.

Epik says that some of theirs work best on their sides, but they put them upright to present a smaller footprint. I've also seen people with SVS Ultras on their sides.

Should be fine. I have my Hsu VTF3 mk2 on its side.

Thanks. I just confirmed with JBL that there is no harm in setting it on its side. They did caution that it could increase the chance of the sub "walking" since the feet concentrate the vibrations at the corners when it's standing vertically. I assume if i put one of those non-skid pads underneath it I shouldn't have to worry about it walking (particularly since I'm not particularly inclined to ever really crank up the bass).
