I have a nuvo essentia that i want to rack mount. The ears are crazy expensive from nuvo. But the more I look at it the holes seem to be in the same place as other devices I have. Are those rack ear holes standard at all?

They should be. If it states that they will fit a standard 19" rack then yes. If you have any questions just call and ask them.

I think he might be asking about the holes where the ears mount to the side of the equipment? If so... they are often similar, but there is no standard. There's a good chance you can find some rack ears that do fit your Essentia, but you won't know until you try.

If you find some ears that are close but the holes don't line up just right, a drill and a couple minutes can often solve that problem.

I was thinking of this two ways. One, there is 2 holes on the side of the nuvo. they look very similar in spacing on other equipment I have.

The second being the width. I think this unit is 17" wide. Is there any standard for equipment fitting in a 19" rack? Lots of my gear seems about that width but I never really measured.

I guess what it comes down to for me is the nuvo ears are about $50. That is crazy to me for $3.00 worth of steel. I was trying to find a substitute.
