any ideas where to start looking for a distribution amp to run 4 pairs of stereo speakers?

good idea to just use a regular amp and splice the wires (i know i have to make sure the stereo amp can handle the ohm load) to run 4 pairs of stereo speakers?

also any suggestions for a sub to by placed in the ceiling that can move a lot of air in this large room?

the subs does not need to be in ceiling, just something maybe i can build into the ceiling or strap on to ceiling. the room will be used for some dancing so need something that can fill it (room is appox 50x30x10)

Man, that is one huge room to be using inwall subs. You'll need several of them. Although at 50x30x10, you'd need a few regular subs too.

I'd be terrified of the liability issues with strapping a heavy subwoofer to the ceiling while people are dancing and generating vibrations in a dwelling. I think it would be much safer to either:
1) Find an installer who specializes in dance halls to see what he/she would say
2) Hide on-floor subwoofers (multiple) around, ie embedded in the "bar" or other such locations.
