A few years ago I bought a Sirius JVC portable unit(which I only use in my car) and got a lifetime subscription on it. The unit died recently so now I have to replace it. I have a sirius ready pioneer unit in the car by the way. Here are my two options:
1) Get the SIRIUS SC-C1 SiriusConnect unit and the Pioneer CD-SB10 converter unit and connect that to my pioneer head unit.
Pros: The SC-C1 probably won't break as fast as a stand alone unit like a starmate. The radio is controlled through the head unit.
Cons: The CD-SB10 supposedly has freezing issues and the pioneer head unit display for Sirius is limited(1 line only song info or something?)
2) Get the Sirius starmate 5 unit:
Pros: Good display - Can take it out and use it elsewhere although I probably wouldn't do that. Easy to install since I already have the car setup to work with a stand alone unit
Cons: Separate controls from the head unit and I'm afraid the unit would break like my stand alone JVC unit did.
Any opinions from the experts?
