My LCD is dying, so I was wondering if it is possible to buy a CRT still. 30-36" is the range, will do ebay if I have to, but I'm not finding a great deal anywhere.

Try your local Craigslist, best CRT ever sold for consumer market is Sony 34XBR960 or 34XS955.

Either that, or go to this site to be part of the petition to tell Sony to produce at least one new CRT! If you think about it, Sony would be the only one in the market, and have a niche product... http://talksony.com/sony-home-theater-talk/56-petition-sony-tube-tv.html

As Sony stated when they pulled the SXRD line, they want over a million units per year.

If you want a niche High End CRT, just as Krell, Jadis, Mark-Levinson, Goldmund, whoever makes, pony up with your $30k deposit and if they get 10,000 orders, they might just make one for you.

How much would you pay for either one of these sets if they were in good condition?

I'd expect about 500.
