Sorry if this is the wrong forum

I have a Phillips 27PT6441 seen here:
http://www.amazon.com/Philips-27PT6441-Stereo-QuadraSurf-RealFlat/dp/tech-data/B0002F8UYG/ref=de_a_smtd/185-5183880-8542133

it has the following under the specs: Scan velocity modulation: Yes

I have no idea if the component output on this TV is interlaced or progressive

Any help appreciated

I had a bit of a search and couldn't find out either.

However, I did buy my sister a 27" Panasonic crt tv a few years ago and I recall that it output 480i.
Only 480i. Whether through the composite or component or s-video output; only 480i.

Are you having trouble with a dvd player or set-top-box that is outputting 480p and won't display on your tv?

no, but was thinking of getting a progressive scan player. Would make no sense if it was 480i

Yes, it's most likely 480i output. I doubt you'll get a visual difference with a progressive scan player.
