I've had an original 60GB for well over a year and just recently got a Metal Gear 80GB with Ubuntu Linux intalled...although I don't know exactly what it does yet, nor do I really see myself using it that much from what little I do know about it.

I only use the PS3 for BDs 2-4 times per week and have about 25 PS3 games so far, so my needs/wants are not that extensive nor elaborate. The whole backwards-compatibility thing isn't that important to me either, as I really don't see me having the time to go back and play PS1/2 games. I barely have time to play but a few of the newest games as it is. :o

Which one of these should I keep, which should I sell, and why? Also, what should I be asking for either one as a fair price? Thanks in advance to all who respond with their opinions!

Keep the 60 it has the bc in hardware vs 80s software .

i would first switch the hardrives with each other and then sell the 80 gb version with your 60gb hardrive in it. cause the 60 gb is the most maxed out ps3 (content wise) it just lacks the memory content

60gig is fetching a premium right now. i would sell mines if i could purchase a new 80 gig with 85% compatibility.

Well it depends on how often you use your 60GB for PS2 playing. If you haven't played a single PS2 game in it, you can sell it and get a nice premium for it. If you use your PS2 games quite often, sell the 80GB.

Frankly, I think the 2 extra USB ports on the 60GB model are nice to have. Without adding a hub, I can have more peripherals like the arcade stick and Buzz dongle connected at once (I like to keep one open for a flash drive anyway).

4 USB isn't enough for me, so I need a hub regardless. I'd sell the 60gig because you don't need the extra features and you can sell it for more than the 80.

They both have 4 USB ports. It comes down to EE+GS for BC vs just GS and slightly better bluetooth antenna. I doubt you'll care for either.
