Hey Everyone,
This is my first post here...
I'm planning a home studio build and I would like some opinions on the setup I'm selecting...
I'll be building a home studio in the basement of my townhouse, I'm attached on both sides. My home was built in the 40's and the basement height is only 6'6".
Both party walls are made from cement block from the basement to the roof.
I'll be framing my walls with wood 2x4"s (16" on center) and creating a 1/2" buffer between the ceiling joists. The walls will be secured to the ceiling joists by a nail every 36-48".
All the wall cavities will be filled with Roxul Safe and Sound.
Resislant Channel will be used on all the walls and ceiling, then 5/8" drywall will be used.
I'm not planning on making this room "soundproof". But what I'm expecting to get is a room where I can play loud music with my band and not disturb the rest of the house.
I would appreciate any suggestions on how I could make it better without breaking the bank?
