I'm trying to decide between these two setups, but I've run into a bit of a wall:

I own a Samsung LN46A630 television.

1) If I go Samsung, I want to be able to have the speakers also work with my PS3, Xbox 360, and DirecTV receiver. Not just with the upconvert DVD player that comes in the box. Is this possible? My friend has a home theater setup and it doesn't work with anything but his DVD's... Or maybe he has it set up wrong.

2) Will it be possible to use the Z Cinema Speakers with my TV? I like the option that I could also use it with my PC should I ever upgrade the TV's speakers. I imagine there must be a way to get it to work with the television, however... Anyone know? Or would it be possible to use the Samsung on my PC? I have a HT Omega Striker soundcard that is 7.1 surround capable.

3) Which set likely sounds better? I'm mostly concerned about bass and clarity. I want a good, thumpy bass, with the mids and highs being clear (not muddy), but they don't have to be 'perfect', you know?

Thanks for any help!

I would skip both of them. They both don't have all the inputs that are needed for your components, and since you got a PS3 you don't need any DVD player to go with them.

The samsung is lacking in any connectivity, and the Logitech are just computer speakers.

Go look at the Sony CT-100. It is a 3.1 and has 3 HDMI inputs and all the other audio inputs there are. It also process LPCM ... so it will work well with your PS3 for the HD codecs and optical inputs for your Xbox 360 and DirectTV.

Get at least a 3.1 for a more balanced sound stage up front. You want a separate woofer for a Center speaker because this is where all the sounds come from in movies. So this will equal to more clarity.

Honestly most HTIB won't give you much bass, but I heard good things about Sony CT-100. Its around the price range of the above two sets you mentioned. It retails from $250.00 to $300.00 depending where you look.

So what budget are you on? Maybe you can just afford a separate receiver and 3 speakers + subwoofer
