I am interested in purchasing a Popcorn Hour machine. My primary use for the machine would be playing ISO or IMG files of SD DVDs.

Does the Popcorn hour output 480i via HDMI?

In other words, if I convert an SD DVD to an ISO file and play it on the Popcorn hour, would it output 480i via HDMI just like the Oppo 971 for example?

Also, does the Popcorn Hour have a setting to output video at the native resolution of the file you are playing, so that videos that are 480i, 480p, 720p, etc. would output via HDMI at their native resolution?

Thanks,

Abe

I have an iStarHD, which is a near identical NMT player.

My device doesn't have a 480i output, it only does 480p. You can only set it to one output at a time and there is no automatic switching. From what I have seen, the Popcorn is the exact same on this.

But, yes, with the 480p 60Hz or 576p 50Hz options you can output NTSC or PAL DVD ISOs without any upscaling.
