My TV is a constant blue screen . . . menus display fine.

Just prior to receiving a constant blue screen on my component inputs (tried multiple inputs / cables), the screen was beginning to "wave" at the top.

Is this a problem commonly rectified by the capacitor issues? Has it been encountered by other Mits folks (didn't see it on this forum).

I assumne that other inputs such as the internal tuner work fine?
What is your component source and what resolution are you using?

Thanks for your response . . . well, the problem was constant yesterday (constant blue on all inputs/resolutions (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i)) but now its changed (degraded?) overnight!?!

I think I now have the problem folks on the forum have described as "Sunburst" now (see pic; sorry for poor quality).

Another symptom of swollen capacitors or worse?

Those chasis's are doomed to so many problems. The biggest is bad caps on the powersupply, fmt, & dm. Once you fix one board the next is not far behind.
