View Full Version : Decision
GW-SMOkeY 11-01-08, 01:38 AM So I'm almost done beating Dead Space ( will prob play it a few more times ) but I am wondering which game to get next. Since most of you have many of these games, what are your suggestions. I need something as Dead Space.
My choices are as follow, however Id like to point out that eventually I will own all these games listed, but for now just need a decision what to pick up next.
Ok so I know I can get Motorstorm for $10 less and free shipping from Amazon.
Any other deals? I want to decide between: Fallout3, Resistance2, Motorstorm2, Bioshock.
Any comments and suggestions are welcomed!
SirDrexl 11-01-08, 03:16 AM I haven't played the sequel, but based on the first game I would probably cross Motorstorm 2 off the list. It's certainly fun, but I just don't think it has the depth to justify a $50-60 expenditure. It's a great $20-30 game though.
Do you have LittleBigPlanet?
Degenerazn 11-01-08, 03:30 AM I'd say Bioshock. Its kinda like DeadSpace except without the scare and more fun.
If you're looking for an epic game that you can really sink your teeth into, I couldn't recommend Fallout 3 more. Simply amazing in so many ways. From the sandbox world that GTA4 should've been and looked like graphically, to the fun of choosing your own adventure (like those old choose-you-own-adventure books) to the VATS combat, which is the nost satisfying combat I think I have ever played - and I'm just coming off COD4!! (So that's saying a lot.)
As well, I think some games are better to rent, but you really wouldn't want to rent Fallout 3. There's just too much substance there. And you don't want to rush through it. I think it also makes a good companion game. When you need a break from the enormity of it, pop in something quick and easy like Motorstorm2.
I think whatever you choose right now, though, is going to be gold. What an awesome time for games.
so's your face 11-01-08, 10:23 AM best bang for the buck is fallout... it's not even debatable.
bassmonkeee 11-01-08, 10:39 AM I haven't played the sequel, but based on the first game I would probably cross Motorstorm 2 off the list. It's certainly fun, but I just don't think it has the depth to justify a $50-60 expenditure. It's a great $20-30 game though.
Ignore anyone who hasn't played the game in question.
Especially when the differences between the two games is night and day. And, especially when the sequel has offline multiplayer and the first one doesn't.
But, if you are looking for something like Dead Space, this is obviously the odd man out on the list of games you posted. Bioshock is probably the most like Dead Space. And, Fallout 3 will probably provide the most loggable hours with new missions.
GW-SMOkeY 11-01-08, 08:31 PM Fair enough ^ Thanks for the responses guys! I am going to decide then between F3 and BS. I want R2 and MotorStorm, but Ill wait for MS2 to drop in price ( and yeah I like it alot compared to #1. ) Ill buy it though maybe when its 30-40 dollars.... Probably will wait out on BS to drop in that price, but I want to play it now!
I think I will go with Fallout3 - how is it compared to Oblivion since i have that i logged 140 hrs Lv15 25% but never finished. Scared that might happen with oblivion...
Any other suggestions, since tomorrow I will be spending my hard earned cash ;)
Kingram 11-01-08, 08:39 PM Quantum of Solice would be a good purchase, you have the Call of Duty Engine and the coolness of 007 and I think amazon has some deal on this for $10 off.
confidenceman 11-01-08, 08:49 PM Bioshock is good, but I still think it's a rental. I think it's a very good game, but I don't think it's quite the classic that many claim it is. It'll also last you just 10-12 hours. I actually enjoyed Dead Space much more. But who knows?
Fallout 3 is excellent based on the few hours I've played so far, but as you discovered with Oblivion, it's a serious time commitment. I'm waiting until after the crazy holiday season of 1000 games before I give F3 my full attention.
If your choice was between buying F3 or BS, I'd buy F3. If it was just between playing F3 or BS, I might say go rent BS for a week.
But I'll also make a plug for Far Cry 2 just because I'm loving the game so much. :D
GW-SMOkeY 11-01-08, 09:21 PM ^ all of them are, looks like I ll be going the fallout route ;) Then R2, then BS and MS2 hopefully on sale, then Mirrors Edge ( if good ) and yeah Far Cry 2... So yeah fellas ill be broke ;)
LoL just to get this straight w/ Fallout i need to disable notifications to avoid the freeze until a patch right?
