I just bought an insignia LCD47HD, and have direct TV. It's hooked up via the HDMI input.

Even when I view HD channels, if it's in 'Wide' mode (instead of normal) if the background is black, it's very pixelized... I have no idea if there's a way to fix it, it drives me nuts.

This is not a dtv issue, it happens on all inputs (dvd, etc)

Try in store see if theirs does it. Might have a defect.
