With an older large screen TV with a single DVI input, I would like to plug in more than one device with HDMI output, one at a time.

It would be easy if there were a converter that had HDMI as its input and DVI AND audio left and right (RCA plugs) as its output. It would seem to be a very cheap and easy unit to manufacture. Functionally, for a two channel sound system, that would convert my DVI input to an HDMI input.

Would appreciate it if anyone can point me to a device like that.

Thanks.

I'd say it doesn't exist and probably never will. The licensing around HDMI would prevent such a device.

If the unit that you want to use with the HDMI output also has S-video and/or composite output along with R&W audio output connectors then the units most likely also have a setting option to state if you want the audio out over the HDMI or R&W coonnection when outputting video over HDMI.

Gefen makes such a device. However, it maintains HDCP handshaking and your DVI input must be HDCP compatible.

I take back what I said then. :)
