Howdy,

My new setup will consist of a Sammy HL67A750 and SVSound SCS-01 5.1 system. I have been on the web for days searching for the perfect stand at the perfect price.. I came across this one at Walmart.

Looks good and price is good. Now, the center channel will hopefully fit in that open area.... And Im thinking about putting the receiver (Onkyo 606) in one of the cabinets on the side. My questions is will heat be an issue by placing the reciever in an enclosed area like that? Therr is a removable shelf in the cabinet.. so I can place it pretty low so it can ventilate a little.. but Im not sure... thoughts?

And I guess my question not only refers to the reciever.. but also the cable box/ps3 which will probably go in the other cabinet.

EDIT: Wouldnt let me post link. Heres the stand http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5151029

Yeah, receivers and PS3s get notoriously hot.

I wouldn't put a receiver in an enclosed spot unless it has an active ventilation system in place, like a fan to exhaust the heat out through an opening. If that's not possible, on that stand I'd leave the doors off and make sure there's at least six inches above the receiver, and a good space around the PS3 (and the cable box.) I wouldn't stack any of them.

Yeah, I dont know if I look the way it would look without the doors. I dont think Im going to buy them stand anyway.. I cant seem to find the dimensions of that open area for the center channel. Im not going to risk it..

Finding a stand that can accomodate my components is such a hassle!
