Hello
Poll is probably not the right word here but who cares!
I am interested to see what the Marquee owners are using in their setups!
it would be nice to hear from Tyrg also (I know is is not a crt usr ..but still!)
Include the following please!
--What gain?
--Distance?
--Size?
--Manufacturer and make?
--8 or 9 incher?
--Brightness and contrast settings?
--maybe even video processor make and settings
Of course we are talking about a light controlled environment!
I have read alot on this subject and understand that this is only a part of the puzzle but i never asked to see what the users are doing...so here it is!
What are your experiences?
Thank you all
Martin

Some times i use the stack but lately i have only used my single M8500 because i do many upgrades to the boards and am re-converging every so often so doing the stack isnt viable for when i want to watch a movie.
PJ: Marquee Electrohome Reference 8
Screen: DaLite ModelC gain 1.3
Size: 12 foot wide 16x9
Distance 170 inches
Contrast 54
Brightness 55-60 depending on movie Mostly watch blu ray scope
Lumagen HDQ processor to Moome Internal VIM-HD
1080p@48 and 800p@72 for scope
Totally dark bat cave
Many say its too large a screen for an 8 inch but for me I love it, I have no other CRT people who have seen it but anyone who comes over thinks its great !

This CRT forum is dying, i think you'd get more responses on the other site.

The forum seems to have slowed down a bit...
I'm thinking maybe who ever was gonna get a CRT has already done so, and probably has it setup near to their taste!
I guess once you get the kinks out of your first setup the next one gets easier, even when you upgrade to a 9 incher or something!
I would hope that with the long life of some of these chassis (and hopefully long availability of tubes!!!), and the inability of some of us to trade off for more problematic/less efficient and noisier devices is what is keeping these beasts in our lives.
It is amazing to see how much people buy into the marketing hype of some of these companies and their so called latest technologies!
I see it everyday in my job and whenever I try to help someone understand that what the hear and read has been carefully orchestrated and that what works is usually the best route to go, they look at me as some kind of a cultist trying to convert them into a long dead religion!!!
Anyhow

I agree, Curts Site tho has a lot more readers there as I think more people go tere becasue its less policed, and its much more fun and the chat feature is starting to take off. Hope to see you join it someday.
