So, I'm trying to hook up a PS3 to a non-HDCP compliant monitor. It's a Dell 1707FP monitor. Basically, I want to use a VGA converter box to convert the RGB component output from the PS3 to a workable VGA input for the monitor. As I understand it, the box I'm looking at (either VGA-2000 or XCM VGA Converter Box) will output to a TFT monitor, but only in the 16:9 outputs (1900x1080, 1280x720 etc). But at the same time, it can output to a CRT monitor in the 4:3 form. Is there any way that it can output to the TFT monitor in 4:3, even if it isn't "HD quality." Or would trying to use a low grade resolution on an LCD monitor make it unplayable.

I would go with the HD-Fury blue for $62 at www.monoprice.com
Thats what I use. I heard that vga boxes are hit and miss and the quality isn't great. The edges are cut off a little . Im using a 20" flat screen monitor and Games and Blu Ray movies look great in 1080P.
You will also need a HDMI/DVI cable. Do a search at the forum here for more info.
