With the latest FW, the power saving features were added in. I recall that one is to turn off the console after so many hours and the other option is to turn off the controllers after so many minutes.

I thought someone mentioned that there was a feature added to turn off the console after a download? Was this in fact the first setting after no activity? So the least amount of time the console will stay on is 1 hr?

Comparing this to the 360 where it will turn off after the last download. Can someone confirm theres no other option to turn it off after download has finished?

there is no setting to shutdown the console after download. It is only available when you are downloading a new firmware.

I was downloading a demo last night, and when I turned the ps3 off to go to bed, it gave me the option to shut down the machine when the download is complete.

You get the option when you turn it off from the XMB (above create new user) while you are background downloadiing.
