View Full Version : No suround sound with PS3 on a 7.1 system

I have a PS3 connected via HDMI to a HK avr254 receiver (7.1)

When playing games I'm only getting 2ch sound front L+R

When playing bluray I'm getting the correct 5.1 DD

My settings on the receiver are set to 7.1 PCM, I have tried every possible setting combo and can't get games to play sound on more than 2 ch.

did you make the proper audio selections on your ps3? what games?

It's possible your AVR is setup incorrectly as well... read the manual?

Is your PS3 set to output LPCM (correct) or Bitstream (incorrect) via HDMI?
