Weather it's my DVD player, Nintendo Wii, or PC, when I plug any of those sources into my Emerson SDtv, I am not seeing the entire picture. Here is an example;

Imagine behind all of those black lines there is nothing, just blackness. For some content this isn't a huge problem, but for the others, it is. I recently was able to get into my tv's "secret menu" and resize and re-position some of the picture. Here is an example of how it looks now.

Notice now I can see everything VERTICALLY but horizontally, some of the picture is still obscured? So my question is, how can I remedy this? My tv doesn't allow me to resize the picture horizontally, it just allows me to me to move the position. My Wii for example, lets me also MOVE the picture, but not resize it down to the correct size. If anyone has any reccomendations, I'd appreciate them.

You'd have to go into the service menu of the set and lower the horizontal size and horizontal blanking shudders. I don't know anything about the emerson TV's though, let alone how their service menu works.Plus keep in mind it's Standard def. set. Not really much room to play around ( i my experience) with overscan on SD sets. Best i was able to get on my old SD sony was 5% Plus it all depnds on what type of signal is being fed into it. You might be able to get it low gaming on the wii and dvd player, but then the cable box will introduce a whole bunch of noise that will drive you more crazy then missing some of the picture.

Best thing for you to do is find a forum that specializes in your set, and maybe someone will be able to help. Since no one replied to your topic i'm guessing that nobody else on here has your set.
