I had no idea my sound system could sound so good. I was blown away by the depth of the Brooklyn Bridge scene, and practically any and all action sequence in the film.
I wonder if it is just extremely competent, no-fluke sound mixing, or because this is one of the few true-to-reality mixes (e.g., the mix is a complete simulation of the first-person perspective), meaning incredibly engaged surrounds.
And to believe that I listened to the movie with no sub at an 80 Hz crossover. Wonder how it will sound with my incoming Epik Valor...
Overall, the movie is gimmicky, and they actually could have stretched the potential of the whole POV thing further, but the sound mix really makes all of its negatives seem moot.
