We're about to start a large renovation in our new home and I'd like to figure out the best way to accomplish modest A/V distribution between our basement and main floor.

Current Equipment:
Yamaha RXV-1600
Sony PS3
Netgear 802.1 N Router
Onyx Ref 1 5.1 Speakers
Dedicated Media PC
BEV 9200 PVR (dual tuner)
Panny 50" Plasma
Harmony 880 Remote
Pure AV Power Cleaner
PC Based WorkStation

Proposed Purchases:
2 - 6 in-ceiling speakers for main floor
Additional Remote
Additional Receiver
42" Panel TV for Main Floor
HP TouchSmart All-in-One PC (or similar)
BEV HD Box
IR Repeaters

The basement will have the 50" Plasma & 5.1 speakers. All the A/V gear is proposed to be stored in the mechanical room on a dedicated circuit and shelving.

What I would like to accomplish, with the exception of gaming, is be able to play music and video from my various sources and control them from the appropriate level (basement or main floor). We're only dealing with 800 sqft/floor so I don't need a maze of speakers and wiring. Both levels have an open floor plan.

My audio is in lossy and lossless format on my PC and PS3 and I like to use iTunes or MediaMonkey for playback.

If I were to use a second Harmony 880 on the main floor I can get my head around everything but browsing the music library and navigating through Media Centre on the main floor TV.

I would like to have an All-in-One PC in the kitchen/great room for general use but I suppose this could be the main media navigator as opposed to the remote.

Look forward to some feedback and assistance in getting my problem solved.
