Rick SirDrexl 11-04-08, 07:24 PM I hope it isn't true. I've really been wanting to get some music discs, but most of what's out just doesn't appeal to me. I also don't want to buy the Roy Orbison disc since it's not OAR, but I'm tempted. crunchyfrogs 11-05-08, 03:48 AM It is still listed on Amazon. It wont be listed in the Best Buy ad but they have that Police release they are promoting so... Also I dont see it in the Target or Circuit City ad...hmmm Paul Logan 12-07-08, 08:58 AM It just showed up at SEARS this weekend along with several other titles! kezug 12-07-08, 10:43 AM It just showed up at SEARS this weekend along with several other titles! Where? I only see the DVD releases, not Blu-ray. truffleshuffle83 12-07-08, 04:49 PM http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_05801527000P?vName=Entertainment&cName=DVD+Movies&sName=High+Definition&keyword=tom+petty&sLevel=0 said it was in stock at my local sears, but when i went i couldnt find it Paul Logan 12-07-08, 08:28 PM I picked it up at my local Sears in Pasadena,Ca. and all of the other soundstage titles were also available. novimihai 12-08-08, 12:30 AM Is it region free, will it work on European players?I want some titles but i am from EUROPE?:( Thank you! novimihai 12-16-08, 10:11 AM It's REGION A LOCKED!:( RBFilms 01-03-09, 12:02 AM Hi, We authored the original version of this disc. Soundstage - "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Live in Concert" We used our DRS Process and very high bit rates. ALso, I am pretty sure we did this Region All ... Open. Unless the Producers redid the disc...which is very possible, it should be Region Free. It was supposed to be released by Koch Entertainment but was pulled at the last minute. A special deal was made for the title with Sears soon after it was canceled. As far as I know, Sears is the only place you can get this particular disc at the moment. Gouty 01-03-09, 03:00 AM After having watched the entire disc I have to say I’m really blown away, especially for being such a low profile release. Even the box undersells the product. The only thing it mentions is the 22 songs of the main feature. What it failed to list however is that there are another 8 tracks in the extras section and all of the audio is in DTS HD MA. As for the picture quality, I’m no expert but if you’re looking for that “looking through a window” effect this is it. The clarity is absolutely stunning. This is precisely the kind of image you’d want to show off your set with. If you have a love of all things HD and are even mildly interested in Tom Petty, purchase in confidence. crunchyfrogs 01-04-09, 03:52 PM I agree, very nice audio and video on this one. I would put it up there with Elton John @ Madison Square and the Police. These Sound Stage concerts are putting out some great material. Davinleeds 01-04-09, 04:14 PM Well, Sears, I must visit. Yes? Phantom Stranger 01-04-09, 04:50 PM Hi, We authored the original version of this disc. Soundstage - "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Live in Concert" I think you did an incredible job on all of those music Blu-ray releases and they set quite a standard for other companies to follow. Per chance are you working on any future music titles for Blu-ray currently? Toe 01-04-09, 05:37 PM Any idea if Netflix or BB online will get these in for rent at some point soon? Has anyone spotted this at Best Buy? Toe 01-04-09, 05:39 PM It was supposed to be released by Koch Entertainment but was pulled at the last minute. A special deal was made for the title with Sears soon after it was canceled. As far as I know, Sears is the only place you can get this particular disc at the moment. Nevermind my post above, just saw this:o Man, I hate blind buying concerts as the SQ can be so hit and miss. Can somebody describe this recording/mix of this Tom Petty show? Is it similar to say the Police, Dave and Tim, John Mayer, NIN in the sense of being very present and straight off the soundboard? Is the bass mixed strong in the mix so the sub has something to do? truffleshuffle83 01-04-09, 08:09 PM i still need to grab this EvlAsh 01-04-09, 09:50 PM So the BD is definitely available at Sears, what's the price? I could only find the SD version at Sears.com. ZebraMajor 01-05-09, 01:24 AM So the BD is definitely available at Sears, what's the price? I could only find the SD version at Sears.com. $23+ when I bought it today. crunchyfrogs 01-07-09, 10:40 PM I think you did an incredible job on all of those music Blu-ray releases and they set quite a standard for other companies to follow. Per chance are you working on any future music titles for Blu-ray currently? Yes please let us know what other great concerts we can expect. Great A/V on this one! RBFilms 01-08-09, 10:49 AM Thank you...it is nice to know that some folks appreciate the extra effort we put in to these projects....:) We are currently supposed to start work on a title called "Ludacris - Theater of the Mind" on BD. It is mostly an Audio BD with three (3) Music Video clips on it. We remastered the audio for this release and it rocks....!!! I will let you know if we do the job and when we actually have the project completed. I think you did an incredible job on all of those music Blu-ray releases and they set quite a standard for other companies to follow. EvlAsh 01-09-09, 02:33 AM $23+ when I bought it today. Thanks! kezug 01-25-09, 09:54 PM Wow, I am suprised that there is not much more chatter about this release. Tom Petty is awesome. Blu-ray, is awesome, but yet, with these 2 pairings, and we only get 23 posts. Whats up with that? I mean, how is the PQ and AQ...is it reference material? demo material? material you would show a newbie your system with????? truffleshuffle83 01-25-09, 10:26 PM umm its exclusive to sears and is 25 dollars. not many people go to sears for their blu ray purchases, and most people still believe this disc was cancelled Bachelor 01-26-09, 12:37 PM I enjoy my copy and is probably gets the most spin time out of my discs at the moment. I think it looks and sounds great. There are some songs that the bass is a bit more boomy and others it blends right in. The extra songs are in HD and DTS MA. There are two songs from another concert that have been included in the extras. Not as great image and sound isn't mixed as well as the soundstage concert, but still good. I noticed the spit coming out of the backup singers mouth on occasion. You may notice the same. I never realized how universal Tom Petty and his band are at playing different types of music. They play their tunes mixed with some 60's, blues, and just fun music. It's worth the trip to sears. tlniec 11-13-09, 01:09 PM Resurrecting a dormant thread here, but in case anyone was on the fence about this disc when it was priced at $25 -- Sears appears to be clearancing them now for $10! At least, that's what I paid yesterday for a copy at the Cedar Rapids, IA Sears. Toe 11-13-09, 01:49 PM I got this a while back and to my ears the SQ was not anything special. Cant remember exactly what I did not like about it since it has been a while, but definitely not one of my favs from a audio quality/mix point of view. I think it had a somewhat harsh quality to it if I remember right. $10 is a great price for these though. The SC one I thought sounded great in comparison so I guess it is hit and miss. The show is obviously debatable, but I found that pretty flat as well. Just my opinion though. :) ti-triodes 11-15-09, 06:17 PM Resurrecting a dormant thread here, but in case anyone was on the fence about this disc when it was priced at $25 -- Sears appears to be clearancing them now for $10! RBFilms 11-16-09, 11:08 AM Thank you. We did not have anything to do with creating the mix or shooting & editing of the video for the program. However, we did take time to make this transparent to the original program source ... or as best as one can do with the limitations of 8 Bit Color and 48k audio files...:) We did create some nice motion menus. You will notice that only the first three (3) SoundStage Titles we created ... Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, and Jewel ... feature motion menus and very high AVC bit rates. Also, we used DTS-HD for the titles we authored. I am not sure if the ones done by Cineram use DTS-HD and High Bit Rate AVC Encoding or not. We just finished a new George Benson Surround Audio Disc for Monster Music and we are currently working on some new concert titles that I can;/t discuss until they are closer to street date. We will also be announcing a title I have been talking about producing for years at the 2010 CES.
