I'm trying to get the vga port on my ln52a650 to work with my ps3.
I have the hdfury vga adapter but I keep getting mode not supported through the pc port.

Any thoughts as to how to make this work?

Thanks,
~Mark

try http://forum.vudu.com/showthread.php?t=2768

I have a hd fury blue hooked up to a 20 lcd non hdcp monitor and it works fine.

I just thought of something...do I even need the hdfury connector? My set should already be hdcp compliant. Does that sort of thing matter in this case?
I'm rather confused by it all. If I just used a vga to dvi connected to a dvi to hdmi, would that work instead?

HDMI doesn't carry the analog video signal at all, so you wouldn't be able to do HDMI->DVI->VGA with simple cable adapters.

I think you should just simplify, use the hdmi on the ps3 straight to the hdmi on your LCD.

No reason to use HDFury, unless you actually need it for some use case specific to your devices and displays.

my intentions were to reduce input lag thats apparent over hdmi.
obviously, if it doesn't work then there's no reason to worry about it. I'll switch back to hdmi and get used to the lag. hehe

Yea I am kind of lost why you are not going straight into the HDMI port on the TV?

Dude, if you care that much about input lag on yuor a650 - just hit game mode?

Dear Mark,
I have the EXACT same setup and the EXACT same problem. The samsung tv doesn't work with the HDFURY for me with my ps3. It only accepts 480 and that looks kinda crappy. my other westinghouse is fine. Only the samsung ln40a650 doesn't work with the hdfury and ps3 :( It does however work with my xbox through VGA on all settings including 1080 and 720.
The problem with gaming mode is that it still has lag (20 ms more than VGA!) which is noticable, especially when playing a game on your xbox and having it have instant response to wherever you aim and then switching to ps3 and having 20 more milliseconds lag time on everything you do! I'm with you mark and I hope they fix it (samsung)!

weird.... we buy next gen hidef stuff and still use analog plugs/connectors/adapters.... i do however understand the issue though....

OK here's what i think
1 i am using the hdfury with the ps3 to my Sony 40xbr4. it seems to work fine. thats because the Sony accept full 720p and full 1080p resolutions in VGA mode. i think that the samsung doesn't

2 if you don't want input lag the PC/VGA port on a HDTV is the best way to go. seems like on the Sony it is a straight pipe to the screen with the least amount of processing going on

3 in VGA mode you lose the ability to use some of the processing features that the xbr offers. its a trade off.

4 there is a hdfury 2 that is out, maybe that will work with the Sammy
