i'm looking at buying a used sir-ts360 to tune analog cable and pass to a flat panel via component cables. Any issues using a this unit without being a direct tv customer?

as to why I want to do this. I'm looking at a buying a flat panel in the near future. All the units I've seen have only 1 rf input air/cable. So if I want to use the rf for OTA(or cable), I need to get my cable feed(or the OTA) in another cable format. I really don't want to upgrade to digital cable. any other suggestions to accomplish what I want to do?

thanks.

Probably no point in wasting a component input for analog channels, otherwise it should work. A used VCR would work just as well for you.
