I have a bowtie antenna that I want to put a preamp on. I also have a yagi VHF antenna on the same mast that I don't want to boost. Where should I put the preamp? and will it affect the VHF antenna?

If you are combining the antennas into a single coax, the preamp should go between the bowtie and its input to the combiner and it should be as close to the antenna as possible.
