just got these on sale with frys it will be my main front speakers replacing my polk audio rm7500 main speakers and placed them as my back sorrounds so I would have a 7.1 channel system my gear are:

2 r50's for main left/right front
5.1 polk audio rm7500 for my center, l/r sorrounds and 2 back sorrounds
Onkyo 705

before I have my speaker set up in 80hrz for every channel and when I run the audessey with the new main fronts (r50) it changed to fullband should I keep this r50's fullband or change it to 80hrz?

I am thinking of setting it like this:

main - full band
l/r sorrounds - 80 hrz
2 back sorrounds - 80 hrz
center - 80hrz
subwoofer - 80 hrz

Is this alright?

Thanks,
Peter

I would reset the R50's (L-R) to "small". The 80 hz crossover is about right. The woofers in the R50's are just not up to frequencies much lower than 50hz-60hz. We set my son's R50's to small on his modest basement HT and they do quite well without attempting to reproduce frequencies they are not really built for.

+1 for crossing them at 80 HZ.
