Hey Guys,
I currently have a 139" WIDE 2.35:1- CIH screen. Made with Phifer Weave 4500. I am interested in making a NON AT SCREEN.
1) What NON AT materals are available?
2) Best Place to buy?
3) Any pre-made screens CIH?
thanks!

Depending on size screen you want- I have made a 60" x 144" 2.40:1 screen out of 1/2 inch MDF that I bought at Lowes. Then painted 3 layers of Behr Ultra Pure White 4050 onto the surface. Largest sheet for MDF is often 49" x 97" (nominally 4/8) at least locally so had to use 2 sheets. Does have a seam but just butted sheets tightly, added a piece of clear scotch tape on the joint and painted it---no problem and can't see joint. MDF has very smooth surface. Best of all this is a cheap option to try maybe $50 total so not out much if don't like it.

You may want to look at the Wilson Art DW laminate material. My previous screen was made of this material and it performed very well. It has a fairly high gain (about 1.4) and little or no hot spotting. Here's the link (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=708240) to that thread.
I'm curious though as to why you are moving away from the Phifer Shearweave AT material?

I had a Panny 3000 and it seemed dim at 2.35. I'm looking for a boost...

Aqua, I just got that new panny and made this screen to match it. I made a 2:35 screen for under 150 dollars out of Wilsonart DW laminate. I had a dalite 16:9 screen before and it beats it hands down. And I'm very happy with the PQ at 2:35, it doesn't seem dim with the panny at all. its 110 X 57 and its bordered in velvet wrapped trim. A nice cheap way for me to get into 2:35!

Dalite sells the material separate.

I actually went to Menards, which if you're not familiar, is like Home Depot, Lowes, etc. You just tell them you need to special order the stuff, and it took about a week and was about 110 bucks. You just tell them you need Wilsonart Designer White D354, and tell them the size you need. Then its up to you to put it on a frame or whatever. It wasn't too hard, just be careful cutting the stuff because it will crack.
