I just got a new HR21 receiver and installed the b-band converter and it's not working. The only thing I get is the guide and no picture. Without the b-band converter, I have no problems at getting the guide and HD channels . Do I need the b-band converter or not to receive HD. Directv keeps on telling me I need the b-band converter to receive HD. Thanks. :(

Depends if you have an SWM capable set up or not. Do you know if you have an SWM enabled dish? Can you confirm if you have one or two cables coming to the DVR?

I have one cable from the SWM switch.

You can toss the BBC then.
