Hey fellas possiblly a silly question but an important one for me. It will be my first time using a equipment rack in the data closet.
My question is will this rack work for Russound CAV 6.6 (3 of them), SMS 3 Server, ST2 XM.

Aren't rack ears only for the front. How do the rears of the equipment mount to the rack?
Shawn
Those rack ears are designed to support the weight of the whole unit. There should be no need to support the rear.
Just make sure the closet is well ventilated. 3 CAV's and all that source equipment will generate quite a bit of heat.
Sounds like a nice system.

Hey Thanks Eric, I kind of assumed that but wasn't sure.
My data closet is in the basement, I think my temperature hardly ever gets above 72F even in summer.
I am thinking of cutting a rectangle at the top of the door to exhaust heat.
I'll slap on a some type of a grill.

The Middle Atlantic Slim 5 racks will house and support all your Russound gear as already mentioned. Be aware that the Slim 5 racks are a little flimsy compared to the other racks from Middle Atlantic (WRK, MRK, ERK, etc.).
They stiffen up after adding some gear, but many people are a little startled when they first bolt them together.
Remember to account for at least 1U between the CAV6.6s (2U is even better) for cooling and I'd recommend installing the SMS3 below the CAV6.6s to keep it away from the heat as much as possible...
