Can you notice the projector noise when you're watching something with the volume at normal level? Is there any way to muffle the projector, like by putting a towel over it or something...

The bulbs used in projectors generate a lot of heat, and insulating it could cause a severe reduction of the life span of both the bulb and the internal components of the projector. eightninesuited 11-07-08, 03:55 PM Can you notice the projector noise when you're watching something with the volume at normal level? After awhile you will not be able to hear a thing. You also will not be able to see anything either because you will be sitting in the dark. :) rickster904 11-07-08, 06:06 PM Why stop with towel? Put duct tape over all the openings would make it really quiet! :p Ok in case someone is stupid enough to try - IT IS A JOKE. mat82284 11-07-08, 07:02 PM if you really want to make it extremely quite put it in a sound proof glass box! Most of the time, my surround sound is masking my fan but in quiet moments I can hear it running. I don't pay any attention to it and concentrate on the show. Not everyone can though, I understand. If you really must do something to make things as quiet as possible, you have a couple options: 1. Mount the PJ in the room behind your viewing room and shoot the image through small glass window in the wall. Most people don't have this option or can take advantage of this kind of setup. 2. Buy or build a hushbox. This will encase the PJ and will have intake venting and larger verry quite exhaust fans to keep you PJ from overheating. Search on hushbox or hush box to find more info on this solution. |
