for projectors $1,500 and below. That is more of the price range that interests me, and searching in here gets difficult because there is so much information on projectors that are in the $1,500 to $3,000 range. :(

Keep in mind street price on many of these projectors is around a $1,000 and many of them go for less.

I guess I'm talking normal "street pricing" not the occasional "blow-out pricing" that a projector is available for sale. I read through the threads but often need to refer to projector central to get an idea of the price of the projector, only to find it's not in the price range I'm shopping. I'm really not interested in spending more than $1,000 to replace my X1. I know that I should be able to get a better projector than my old one for that price, but it's harder to sift through the information when it's mixed in with projectors costing double or triple my price point.

If you want a good deal you have to be patient, search and jump when you find the right deal. I picked up a new Planar 7130 today for a good price. Good luck.

Barry, If you are indeed shopping to replace your X1 but want to save money, check the link in this thread (at the bottom) - http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1082797 - and jump on it quick. The Sharp is a great PJ, especially at this price.
