I have a few Axis camera's setup (211m, 221, 207mw and 213) in and outside of my house. I am currently using Axis camera station to manage the events and view the video, however I am not satisfied with the software. I have tried many different programs but cant seem to get the right mix of features.

I an looking for software which:
1. allows event based recording (motion)
2. provides a web client to view videos (Lan and wan)
3. marks or otherwise highlights the motion detected that triggers the recording.
4. allows masking or other advances motion settings.
5. displays multi-camera views.
6. provides PTZ functions for cameras so equipped
7. has mobile phone interface (not required as I have a third party app)
8. has easy to use event searching

there may be other i have leftoff. most software has some or most of the features but none has them all; or at least none has all of them in a manner I like.

I also am looking for the ability to stream the videos to a TV in a quad layout. I have purchased an axis 292 which is a IP decoder allowing for single camera displays, with the ability to switch views at a predetermined interval. however, it would be more useful to view 4 cameras at once.

I appreciate all ideas. Thanks in advance

milestone xprotect is a really good package. I use it to watch construction sites with 6 and 9 camera installs.

Everything you have on that list it can do. Its CPU usage is really good/low

Stingers, I'll answer your PM here...

I use ELO Touchmonitors in my house. The model number is 1515L using the Acoustic Pulse touch technology. ELO Monitor (http://www.elotouch.com/Products/LCDs/1515L/default.asp)

I developed my own kiosk style software for my house. I used the Axis SDK for camera control. I never implemented the more advanced event management into the kiosk. I just use the built in motion detection and FTP the video to a server. If you find something that suites your needs, post it here because I'm always looking for other software/features.

I tried milestone, it is one of my favorites so far. I forget what the shortfall was, but I remember it was overall a nice package.
