Hello,

I am having a lot of trouble trying to play Blu Ray movies on my Samsung T260 LCD

My setup is as follows: I have an HP laptop (pavillion dv7) with a blu ray player and HDMI port (video card is an nvidia 9600m). I've connected this to my LCD (samsung t260) with an HDMI cable (8ft in length).

OK scenario 1) I set the samsung to be a secondary display and extend my desktop to it. I get an error stating that video is protected and cannot be displayed in this method.

2) I set samsung to be primary display and extend desktop to the laptop. The video tries to start up but the screen flashes between a black screen and the video and the sound/video output is extremely choppy. I'd estimate the intervals of flickering to be 7-8 seconds of black screen, 2 seconds of video. This repeats until i close the blu ray player (cyberlink)

3) I set samsung to be primary display and disable the laptop display. I get an error stating that my video cannot be displayed because the VGA resource is unavailable.

4) I set the screens to clone, I get the same error as in #1.

Now I know this has to be possible, I've been able to connect my laptop to an HDTV and ran it using scenario 2 just fine. But for some reason I get immense flickering while using this samsung.

Some extra info that may or may not be relevant:
•The samsung is connected to my desktop PC. I've set the display mode to HDMI, so all input comes from there (my laptop).
•The samsung also has an audio output connection to which I've connected my speakers.
•I have tried installing the samsung drivers on my laptop.
•My video card drivers are up to date, and my blu ray firmware is up to date.
•The HDMI cable is brand new, I just bought it 2 hours ago.

Does anyone have any idea what/where the problem could be in this configuration?

So from scenario 2, are you saying that it works ok if you close the blu-ray player on your desktop? If so, that sounds like a digital rights protocal issue with HDMI between the blu-ray software and the Samsung firmware. Since it works with the HDTV, I suspect the problem is with the Samsung. You might contact Samsung and see if they have a solution for your problem.
