View Full Version : Be Kind Rewind - Why 2 Encodings?

For some reason there is a big difference between the sizes of the Region A and B variants of this disc - the Region A is about 22Gb and the Region B is 42Gb, obviously a whopping 20Gb difference in size!

I note that the A is released by New Line, whereas the B is Fox Pathe, presumably to do with distribution rights, but I can't understand why the Region B has a much higher bitrate encoding. Surely it would have been easier to use the same version on each, no?

Just wondering if anyone has further info on this odd finding.
