View Full Version : "Trade in" Remote to Recycle?

Here's my situation: I bought a used VCR for my garage, a Sony SLV-N71, from Value Village, the local used stuff store. It came with a remote control, but it's the wrong one. The remote operates most of the VCR's functions, but not all.
The remote I have is a RMT-V231A. The correct remote for the SLV-N71 is a RMT-V307A.

Question: I know there are several websites out there where I can spend $20 - $30 on an original replacement remote. Do any of them also buy used remotes? I mean, they must get them from somewhere. I'd like to see if I could "trade in" my remote for the one that matches my VCR, rather than just buying a replacement and tossing the old one.

Thanks for the tip. I did check e-bay and there is one that I could get shipped for ~$20.
However, I returned to Value Village today, and low and behold there was a Sony VCR remote (with no matching VCR in sight...) that met my needs. No commercial skip button, but it had the index search buttons I was looking for.
