Are the extra pixels in the pz85u worth $800 (that might not be the price difference in the USA, but in mexico it is) or at least would there be any noticeable difference??

View Full Version : 42" px80u vs pz85u? asisrem 11-09-08, 02:32 PM Are the extra pixels in the pz85u worth $800 (that might not be the price difference in the USA, but in mexico it is) or at least would there be any noticeable difference?? hodgen 11-09-08, 02:53 PM On a 42 incher? Doubtful. I bought the px80u 50 incher as I did not feel the extra $$ was worth the extra pixels on that size tv with my viewing distance. BWDinc 11-09-08, 02:54 PM Its def worth it unless you are sitting 20 feet away. Its more detailed, sharper, and has better depth. badmeng 11-09-08, 05:25 PM 800 more is a lot but the pz85u has a definitely better picture, better blacks (which are noticable), higher contrast, deeper colors, better processing (smoother picture), an a pc input. The Px 80 runs a lot cooler, uses less watts, and handles SD content better. iserum 11-09-08, 08:37 PM i would suggest px80, 42 inch 1080p is not worth the extra price, if PC input is needed then PZ80 is automatic choice. tfoltz 11-09-08, 10:14 PM It depends on your seating distance. Anything closer than 8 feet and you may want the 1080p. Anything further, I would say no way for $800 difference. hodgen 11-09-08, 11:02 PM Its def worth it unless you are sitting 20 feet away. I can tell the difference at 10 feet or beyond on a 42 incher, but most other people have to be even closer than that to see the difference. BWDinc 11-15-08, 12:28 AM I agree, i was just making a point. didnt do a great job though. asisrem 11-15-08, 07:22 PM my viewing distance is 5ft badmeng 11-16-08, 12:22 AM At 5 ft go with the pz85. km_avf 11-16-08, 09:54 PM a proud owner of a pz85  RandyWalters 11-17-08, 10:12 AM At 5 ft go with the pz85.Absolutely. That's really close and a 768p will look terrible. Get the 1080p PZ for sure. If cost is a problem, is the cheaper PZ80U available in Mexico? It should be since it's actually assembled there :D |
