So I work for Best Buy and tonight we had a Reward Zone Members night. I don't know how we did it. but we got approval to sell 25 copies of Hancock on Blu-Ray. I bought the first copy...LOL... Here is a a quick pic for proof via my cell phone.

'Got my copy last night as well. The copy was not on the shelves on the BB store I went. Instead, there was 1 guy making the rounds around the store with several copies on his hand asking everyone if they're interested for a Hancock BD. :)

I got one too... but I'll save the receipt in case it's on sale when it's really released. My local BB had the typical new release cardboard display right up front. I was suddenly unsure of what day it was until they told me it was out early for the event. Naturally I tried to get them to put Firefly and Hellboy out as well, but no dice. :rolleyes:

Wasn't too impressed with that event otherwise (where were all the huge preferred customer deals???!? Must've been on stuff I wasn't looking to buy), but I'll probably check it out next time as well if they're gonna be putting movies out early.

I am sure Best Buy corporate worked out a deal with Sony to release some copies early. They also had other Sony deals as well so it was a good promotion for Sony and an money maker for Best Buy.

They had Firefly out already at my Best Buy. I picked it up despite it being $64.99.

For some reason though they never got their shipment of Kung Fu Panda, which was disappointing

Probably not. It was promo done exclusively for this event. I would have gone myself to buy Hancock, but I can wait 2 more weeks to receive it from Tower.com.

We actually got approval to sell Kung Fu Panda 2 days early... our Hancock was being sold my our Media Supervisor who was just walking around with the box in his arms to keep control of them. Sony was very clear in the e-mail we received that all copies that weren't sold had to be pulled at the end of the night.

it was just for the private shopping event last night... which was sponsored by sony and LG which explains any LG or sony related deals as well as the hancock bluray being made available for the event

got my copy ... there was at least 50 people in line in front of me and they must not have wanted it (or didn't have a bluray player) because they had plenty of copies sitting on the table when i walked in

I was about the 150th person in line at my BestBuy. By the time I got in and walked around for 5 minutes looking for Kung Fu Panda, found Firefly put out early, and then found someone to ask about Hancock, they realized they hadn't even brought Hancock out yet. They told me to speak to one of the employees who was handing them out, and I was able to get the first one. No one around me seemed to care. They even announced it over the loud speaker that they had 25 and release date wasn't for another 2-3 weeks, and still, no one seemed to go get one, not even the 10+ other people in the Blu-Ray section at the time.

Doesn't matter to me though... I got mine and Firefly 2 days early to boot!
