Looking for an affordable cable that will transmit 35-40' 1080p
I was looking at monoprice but I read an article saying that it failed to transmit such long distances.

If you check the stats,
it looks like a 99% 5 star user satisfaction rate after 24 reviews

I got the tip from someone on AVS who was using the 50 footer without issue.

monoprice stuff is by FAR the best bang for the buck anywhere. you would be fine for transmission all the way up to 100 feet easy man

monoprice cables are good one for the price. 35-40' ft cables are not long. I am using 50' foot HDMI cable from monoprice. I know many who use 100 ft HDMI cable with no issues.

if u did notice image quality issues, then intermediate data booster may help. I heard about this stuff. Honestly havent seen or used one.

Another vote for Monoprice. ALL of the cables in my many HT's have come from them. Not a single problem ever. I think you will be surprised at the build quality of their cables.

My system has used a Blue Jeans Cable BJC Series 1 HDMI @ 40 ft in 1080P 24/60fps with absolutely no issues. A friend has been using a BJC Series 2 HDMI cable at 35' with no issues.

Pertaining to your HDMI 1.3b question -- What is the difference between HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 1.3a, or 1.3b?

Per HDMI.org, and I quote, "For consumers, there is no difference between HDMI version 1.3 and 1.3a or 1.3b. These minor revisions to the specification typically relate to manufacturing or testing issues and do not impact features or functionality. In addition, HDMI Licensing, LLC is actively working with manufacturers to reduce confusion for consumers by de-emphasizing version numbers and focusing instead on product features and functionality.

For Adopters, the latest HDMI Specification is v1.3a and the latest HDMI Compliance Test Specification (CTS) is 1.3c."

The latest HDMI specification is version 1.3a, but its latest test spec is CTS version 1.3c.
