Johnny5.1 11-10-08, 08:37 PM i've got some weird underscan, black borders on the bottom and left/right edges. Hopefully its fixed before kickoff (Charter Cable)
Check that, it has been corrected!
Johnny5.1 11-10-08, 08:41 PM Wow, 14:48 1st Qtr. Opening kickoff TD, 7-0 Niners
ccotenj 11-10-08, 08:44 PM hmmm... i flipped to dot-by-dot, and i'm not seeing any underscan issues... just the normal crap in the top few lines of pixels...
pq really good. nice color, no swimming grass, no pixelating reds. nice and sharp, no pixelation on motion. typical high quality espn stuff.
aq. well, it's better than nothing. i really wish they'd ditch circle surround.
fios, south jersey.
juancmjr 11-10-08, 08:48 PM ESPN via Comcast. PQ is beautiful. Absolutely nothing wrong here.
paule123 11-10-08, 08:57 PM Typical mediocre ESPN 720p PQ when viewed on my 50" 1080p plasma. Not seeing a whole lot of artifacts fortunately, but overall the picture looks soft and the colors somewhat dull.
Via D* channel 206 (MPEG4)
Game looks good, but as always, ESPN does not show enough of the game on the screen. Too much stuff at the bottom, and sometimes small black sidebars.

My thoughts are similar on E*.

Too much stuff on the bottom, but if you notice, nothing anywhere else...i'll take it. It's starting to grow on me. The small black sidebars you talk about are the result of the slight compression done to accommodate 18/58 updates on the bottom line. Its necessary because the normal bottom line actually would cover up part of the score bar (week one was a bit of a disaster with this).

Looks good here. What a game. Great goal line stand.
I saw the postgame show with Stuart Scott, I think he is the Tim McCarver of ESPN. He is so annoying.
Also anyone want to take bets as to whether another Bay area game gets blacked out this Sunday when the 49ers face the Rams? ( battle of 2-7 teams).

I agree the ESPN graphics really have grown on me. Though they could be smaller and not have all the black, I like the goal of these new graphics.
