I absolutely love the Nevo's. I went between the Q50 and the MX-3000 from Universal, and the Q50 is pretty much flawless. Perfect blend of touch-screen and tactile keys, super easy to use, and actually fun to program. I can't recommend it highly enough. Only problem is that since its dealer-sales only, if you get your hands on one (I got one on eBay for $250), you won't get any support from Nevo if something goes wrong.

I think remotes are a very personal choice, because it's the one component of your HT setup that you constantly interact with. Each user has to decide what they like in terms of touchscreen vs. button emphasis, form factor, installer vs self-programming, etc. Prontos have rabid fans, as do most other high-end remote systems. Prontos have been around the longest, so they probably have the greatest market penetration.

I use Nevo remotes and absolutely love them. They are very easy to program and customize, have a great "feel" in the hand, and are actually pretty reasonably-priced for a top-level remote. Their one huge drawback, as indicated by the previous poster, is that they use a dealer-only distribution model but have a very spotty dealer network. It's actually kind of difficult to buy these things through "authorized" sellers (even in some major metropolitan areas), and when you buy through unauthorized channels, you're completely without support if you have a hardware problem. How big a risk that is depends upon each person's own financial situation, I suppose.

This will sound like a politician's answer but the real truth is that if you have a Nevo S70, RTI T3v and Philips Pronto Pro TSU9400 all set up perfectly in a single room and had 99 people use them all you would probably end up with a 3 way split. Some of the differences are beyond the remotes. Check out the capabilities of the different processors available from each. Check out the availability of the programming software in your area or of the qualified professionals you plan on doing the programming for you. And, finally, check out the prices of the system you need.

dlink,

Nevo has stated they will be soon releasing a software update to allow the direct control of Z-Wave devices. Not sure when this is coming out, or if it already came out.
