was going to pick up some cables (hdmi 1.3 version) for my TV, 360 and
blu- ray and was wondering which to choose on monoprice. I'm going to need 12-15 fet so lets say 15 to be on the safe side but thre are so many to choose from - silver plates, flat, 28 guage, 24 guage... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

The silver plated and 24 gauge cables have less loss. After a quick look at Monoprice, I didn't show any 28 gauge 1.3a cables longer than 10 feet so that doesn't seem to be an option for you for 12-15'.

The flat cable is for locations where a flat cable is more convenient or would fit better than a round cable. There is no significant performance differences between the two types.

choose the longer one - you should have this cable a long time and the biggest mistake with hdmi cables I have made (I probably have 20 throughout my house) is that I tried to measure exactly and wished I had the longer one.

yea... from a brief glance, they appear to be exactly the same ones...

i also second the "choose the longer one" thought... i too tried to measure exactly when i re-did my rack... i ended up making a 2nd order because some of them ended up being too short...

thanks for the input your right after measuring and remeasuring last night I have 1 foot but after some of the bends from the tv that will probably eat that up so 15' it is. Also I was going to order from my cable mart only because it doesnt say the monoprice are 24k gold and cablemart does, also the cablemart ones say they are silver tinned copper wires as opposed to the monoprice only tinned copper ? difference I'm not sure but it sure sounds better to this newbie :) I'm placing my order tomorrow morning Nov 14th so any objectings or comments I'm open for them till then otherwsie thank you everyone for your helpfull advise.

If you are considering other vendors from Monoprice, Blue Jeans, a forum sponsor and frequent poster has a very nice sale on 24 gauge HDMI cables.

I have a few and they are a very nice cable.
