Hi. I have been searching everywhere, but I cant seem to find anything close to what I am looking for.
This is my Home Theater Setup.
A Panasonic TV with RS232 control
A Onkyo Receiver with RS232/Lan Control
A Cable Box with IR
A PS3 with bluetooth
And a HTPC.
I want to control all the devices with my HTPC. It has Bluetooth, Lan, and you can easily find an IR blaster for it online, as well as USB to RS232 cables. I would like some kind of open source program that i can build off of or at least some documentation. If I can control all these devices with my PC, then I can connect input devices to the HTPC and use them to control things. Say an iPhone over wifi, or a smartphone over bluetooth etc... I would perfer something in Java thats multiplatform, but thats probably pretty difficult when your making a program that depends so much on interfacing with device drivers.
I have found a couple of things, but nothing is open source. You think it would be fairly easy to do all this but its not. I figured there would be some open source home automation apps out there, but cant seem to find any. just embedded linux for Home automation apps.
