Hello everyone!

Since I'm in college and still live with my parents my bedroom doubles as my home theater room. I absolutely love everything about home theaters, but the rest of the fam doesn't really care. So this is what I have to work with...

My Room

Ok I have 5.1ch and I'm looking for some input on where I should put the front left and right speakers and the two surround speakers. The center channel sits ontop of my tv stand.

Moving the stuff in my room around isn't an option because of windows and other stuff I didn't include in the diagram. Just incase anyone is wondering the black square next to the sub is a pilar that goes all the way up my wall.

Look forward to your suggestions!
-Mike

I am a firm believer in the rule of the equidistant triangle, but it really doesn't apply itself well when you don't have a choice as to where the other components of a room are. I would place your front left speaker as far left as you can, and then measure that distance to the tv and mirror it on the right side.

For your rears, I would line them up facing the couch (perpendicular to the tv) on a stand or something similar so that they are an equal distance away from your main sitting spot on the couch.

Not an ideal placement, but most rooms don't allow for an ideal setup!

Thanks for the response, I'll play around with a couple of positions and see what sounds the best.
