Anyone know why tonight's game has the grayed out area above the score bar?

I thought ESPN got rid of it and just put a small gray area behind the text above the bar?

i think they have on most telecasts, but since on the tuesday night football games they put the "messaging from the fans" nonsense scrolling across the top, it probably provides a better background for the scrolling text...

They have an "interactive" line of text there only for their Tuesday night games. You'll see some random stats and comments from fans online chatting about that game.
