OK, for the New England launch area, Comcast TiVo has now been out for a year.

I'm interested to see if we can find out how popular, or unpopular, the Comcast DVR with TiVo software is.

*** Please answer only if you are currently using a high-def DVR on the Comcast New England system.

BUMP... come on, there's a lot more of you using DVRs with Comcast in New England. Let's get some better numbers here.

Thanks

I have a DCT3416 1. I am looking to upgrade only because I have had this box for about 2 years. Is the TIVO service something I will experience if I upgrade? What is the upgrade box of choice in the NE area? What are the pro's/con's?

Thanks
jim

Next year Comcast will be deploying the Panasonic OCAP/Tru2way compliant RNG-200 HD-DVR. There are quite a few in stock. Not yet compatible with Tivo. Tivo has to make an OCAP compliant version of the comcast Tivo. Has a 250 GB HDD and MPEG-4 support. It's the next generation of Comcast HD-DVR's.

I've had the comcast tivo for a year... and it's been a hellish ride.

I've finally come to my senses and ordered an TivoHD with lifetime support. I could care less about any stupid new features that come out in the next 2 years (my break even period, now saving $20/mo from my comcast bill).

What's tru2way really gonna buy me? The ability to put MORE money in their pockets? More useless VOD content?

If only I could convince the wife to bin Comcast altogether... but alas....
